ABSOLUTE BALLROOM voted BEST BALLROOM DANCE LESSON in Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh public has named Absolute Ballroom and Dance Center of Pittsburgh in the “Best Of” which
is compiled by Pittsburgh Magazine. A brief article about the studio will be featured in the September issue of
this popular regional magazine.

As owner of the studio, Shadyside resident Beth Damron, could not be more thrilled with the team of
independent instructors that call Absolute Ballroom home. "We really do have the best of the best," says
Damron, "Our instructors are knowledgeable, current (with trends and styles), personable, and take great pride
in what they do. We realize that ballroom dancing is a luxury item and we treat each person that walks into the
studio as a VIP. There is something very special about Absolute Ballroom and we are thrilled that the
Pittsburgh public is rewarding our efforts!”

Amanda Wolf, independent dance instructor, is the newest member of the Absolute Ballroom Dance
Community. Relocating from Milwaukee Wisconsin, Amanda enjoys instructing Pittsburgh’s beginner and
advanced dancers. “Pittsburgh Dancers are a lot of fun” says Wolf, “they are always excited to learn the most
current styles of dancing and they work hard to look great on the floor!” Amanda competes professionally with
Absolute Ballroom’s Artistic Director Andrew Pueschel whose approach to teaching is one that is quite unique
to Pittsburgh, but not to the staff at the studio.

"It truly is ALL about the dancing at Absolute Ballroom," states Pueschel, “everyone learns at their own rate
and wants to learn different things. I believe that every body type, personality, age, and skill level are privy to a
specialized and personal dance experience. There is no such thing as ‘cookie cutter’ when it comes to ballroom
dancing! Thank you Pittsburgh for recognizing us!”

Focusing on the specific needs of the Pittsburgh dancer, Absolute Ballroom has a roster of instructors that
specialize in a specific type of dance training: Andrew Pueschel (Competitive Ballroom and Latin), Amanda
Wolf (Competitive Ballroom and Latin), Ryan Mitchell (Salsa), Emily Weitkamp (Ballroom), Koichiro Suzuki
(Argentine Tango), Barbara Simard (Adult Ballet), Brad and Sarah Wheeler (West Coast Swing), Olga Grant
(Latin), and Shreeree Buchanan (Zumba).

Rosendo Fumero is a former Undefeated United States Champion from 1988
- 1990 in the American Style Open Division. He is also Undefeated Ohio
Star Ball Champion, Triple Crown Champion, Nine-Dance American Style
Champion as well as many other titles..

Mr. Fumero also holds his fellowship in American Smooth, Rhythm,
International Standard and Latin as well as Theatre Arts. He travels
extensively throughout the United States Lecturing, Coaching and
Adjudicating. Mr. Fumero is also co-organizer of the Virginia State Ballroom
Championships held in Reston, Virginia in July.

Not only did Amanda and Andrew work throughout the day with John, but Peggy got a chance to take a private lesson and we Tuesday - Caroline, Richard, and Karen are about to be Abramified!

Wow - what a time at Maryland Dancesport!

Glenis Dee really put's on a FABULOUS competition.

Congrats to Peggy McLean for dancing in her first competition! Not only did she place in the top 3 in all her finals, but she won 4 of them! She is excited about going to her next competition - the work starts on Monday when she takes a lesson with John Abrams!

John is going to be here Monday and Tuesday so if you would like to take a group class with him, he is teaching at 7 p.m. each night. Come on in. I think I can even squeeze one or two more private lessons out of him!

Amanda and I are doing upgrades to our cha cha and our rumba in order to get ready for St. Louis on March 13-15. Come in and see us - we'd love to dance with you!

It was great to see all our friends at the competition - we look forward to the next one!

Happy New Year - its a new era of dancing at Absolute Ballroom. Our website is down for annual work this weekend so I'll be talking to you from the blog!

Amanda arrives tomorrow night - for those of you who have not had the chance to take a lesson with her yet - please do so - you will LOVE IT!

African dancing starts on the week of the 15th and adult ballet starts next week so get out there and try something NEW!

There are lots of activities coming up so get ready - its going to be a fast, furious, and FUN 2009!

We hope you had a great holiday. If you are looking for some new things to try, our ZUMBA, ADULT BALLET, and WEST AFRICAN DANCING classes will start up in the beginning of the year.

Make sure to call your instructor TODAY to start booking your lessons. The sooner you start, the more progress we can make!

Our top 10 new years resolutions are:

Number 10 - Continue to give excellent instruction at the city's most affordable prices.

Number 9 - Expand our outreach to include friends, family, and peers, of our current dancers (all you have to do is to tell everyone you know about us!)

Number 8 - Make Amanda feel welcome in Pittsburgh and fill up her day with lessons from all of our amazing dancers in the city!

Number 7 - Keep increasing our group class size . . . our average size right now is 6 or 7 per class . . .let's get it to 10-12!

Number 6 - Get enough competitive couples to have practice nights on Fridays or Sundays by March or April

Number 5 - Start our youth group classes by the spring.

Number 4 - Get everyone on our VIP program - ask Beth or Andrew about it TODAY!

Number 3 - Take at least 4 students to each competition (we are taking 3 to Maryland . . . wanna go?)

Number 2 - See more of our official merchandise out and about in the city . . . stop in to purchase your merchandise TODAY!

Number 1 - . . . . . .to make "it's all about the dancing" the most recognizable slogan in the dance world!
